An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Service Manager to lead homelessness and supported housing services in Shepton Mallet.
This role is ideal for an experienced leader from homelessness, housing, supported living, social care or community services who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred support and achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable adults.
You'll lead a dedicated team, oversee day-to-day service delivery, develop strong partnerships with local agencies and commissioners, and ensure services consistently meet quality, safeguarding and contractual standards.

The Role
As Service Manager, you'll provide operational leadership across homelessness and supported accommodation services, ensuring vulnerable adults receive safe, high-quality and person-centred support.
You'll lead and develop your team, monitor service performance, manage budgets and compliance, and build strong relationships with commissioners, housing providers and community partners.
This is a varied leadership role offering the opportunity to influence service development while improving outcomes for individuals experiencing homelessness and social exclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing support team.
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of homelessness and supported housing services.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, contractual requirements, policies and quality standards.
- Monitor KPIs, service performance and continuous improvement plans.
- Manage budgets and operational resources effectively.
- Build strong relationships with Local Authorities, commissioners and partner agencies.
- Promote person-centred, trauma-informed support across all services.
- Ensure excellent standards of documentation, reporting and compliance.
- Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota.
- Drive positive outcomes for people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous management experience within:
- Homelessness Services
- Supported Housing
- Housing Support
- Social Care
- Community Support Services
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience managing operational performance, budgets and KPIs.
- Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred practice.
- Experience building partnerships with Local Authorities, commissioners and external agencies.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to trauma-informed support and improving outcomes for vulnerable adults.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (business insurance required).
