Looking for a dedicated night role in specialist adult care with an employer recognised as one of The Sunday Times Best Places to Work?
At Embrace Care, we know that overnight care isn't just about security checks and staying awake. It’s about being a calm, reassuring, and dependable presence when residents wake up distressed, providing dignified care, and maintaining a safe, peaceful home environment through the night.
If you are an experienced care professional who thrives in a nocturnal routine and wants an employer that actively supports your long-term career development, we’d love to welcome you to our Chester team.
The reality of the role
We believe in total transparency: night support in specialist care requires emotional resilience, sharp observation, and composure. The adults we support may have autism, learning disabilities, mental health challenges, and emotional or behavioural needs.
This isn't fast-turnaround, drop-in care; you will be based in a dedicated residential setting. We need night leaders who understand positive behaviour support, sensory sensitivities, and crisis de-escalation—individuals who can make sound, independent decisions in the quiet hours while keeping the home safe, therapeutic, and calm.
Why you'll love growing your career with us
If you want your night shift expertise to be valued with actual career growth, Embrace Care is designed for you.
- Development & Progression: Night staff aren't forgotten here. We provide fully supported qualifications and clear mentorship pathways to help you move into Senior Support Worker, Deputy, and Management roles.
- Focus on Relationships: You’ll have the time to build deep trust with adults who need extra reassurance at night, ensuring they feel completely safe in their own home.
- A Supportive, Connected Team: You will work alongside dedicated night colleagues and receive handovers and active backing from an approachable management team.
What you'll be doing
- Providing Overnight Care & Reassurance: Supporting adults who wake during the night with patience, empathy, personal care, and positive behaviour support strategies.
- Maintaining Safety & Wellbeing: Conducting regular welfare checks, adhering to care plans and risk assessments, and responding calmly to unexpected situations or distress.
- Managing the Night Routine: Completing essential overnight household tasks, keeping accurate digital records, and preparing the service for a smooth morning transition.
- Leading Handovers: Delivering thorough, professional handovers to the incoming daytime team to ensure continuous, high-quality care.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience in a dedicated care, supported living, or residential setting (experience with autism, mental health, or complex needs is essential).
- The confidence and emotional maturity to remain awake, alert, and responsive throughout every shift.
- Comfort with personal care and handling unexpected night-time situations with composure.
- Strong written communication and record-keeping skills.
- Full right to work in the UK (a UK driving licence is desirable).
What you'll receive in return
- Pay: £14.50 per hour + Annual Pay Reviews
- Health & Wellbeing: Medicash healthcare plan covering dental, optical, physiotherapy, and mental health support
- Loyalty Rewards: Loyalty bonus scheme worth up to £10,000 over 10 years
- Perks & Discounts: 20% discount at our Chester and Preston hotels, £1,000 Refer-a-Friend bonus, and free on-site parking
- Training: Fully paid induction, continuous training, and supported care qualifications
