We have a great opportunity for a part time Shift Leader and Post Office Assistant, working as part of a friendly and experienced team of volunteers who together ensure the daily running and long term success of our community owned and run village shop.
Kingsbury Episcopi Community Shop - Shift Leader/Post Office Assistant
21 Hours £13.80 per hour
We are looking for someone who is able to work part time with the hours of 11.30 - 5.30 Wednesday to Friday and 7.30 to 11.30 on Saturday.
Are you someone who will take responsibility for the smooth running of the shop during these hours and seek to maximise our sales and profit margins through the review and management of our products and stock. We will train you in Post Office duties and training will be given in food hygiene and cafe service, to support our cafe staff if necessary.
Key Responsibilities
Shift Leader, responsible for daily shift duties including contact with suppliers and ordering of stock, date checking of stock, receiving deliveries from suppliers and updating of EPOS.
Stock and Inventory Management
Post Office Assistant
Support cafe if and when needed in serving customers/barista duties.
Work closely with the team of volunteer Shift Leaders and shop sales assistants. Provide support and training when needed.
Ensure Health and Safety and Fire regulations are followed.
Daily reconciliation of till.
Key holder responsible for closing the shop Wednesday to Friday and opening on Saturday.
Essential
Reliable and responsible.
Experience in working in a retail environment.
Computer literate and experience with spreadsheets.
Data driven and able to assess and identify profit and loss making products and supplier costs.
Excellent communication and team working skills, proven ability to engage with and work alongside staff, volunteers and customers.
Flexible and willing to adjust hours if needed to ensure our shifts are covered.
Local to area and able to travel during possible instances of flooding.
Desirable
Experience in leading and working with staff/teams including volunteers.
EPOS trained.
Experience of working in a cafe.
Post Office counter trained.
Trained in Food Hygiene and Allergy Management.
