We’re Looking for Someone Special to Join Team Archie’s
This isn’t just another hospitality job.
At Archie’s, we’re a coffee shop, gift shop, creative space and community hub. Every day is different, and that’s exactly how we like it.
We’re looking for someone who wants to become part of our team for the long term. Someone who thrives in a busy environment, uses their own initiative, takes pride in their work and genuinely enjoys making people feel welcome.
What you’ll be doing
No two days are the same, but your role may include:
- Crafting high-quality coffees, teas and speciality drinks.
- Preparing and serving fresh food.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
- Using the till and handling payments accurately.
- Washing up and keeping the kitchen running smoothly.
- Cleaning throughout the day to keep Archie’s looking its best.
- Restocking shelves, displays and ingredients.
- Helping to set up and clear away workshops, events and community activities.
- Working safely and maintaining high standards of food hygiene.
- Getting stuck in wherever needed to support the team.
The kind of person we’re looking for
We’re not looking for someone who simply wants to serve coffee.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Loves talking to people and making customers feel at home.
- Enjoys being busy and can confidently juggle several tasks at once.
- Notices what needs doing and gets on with it without waiting to be asked.
- Takes pride in keeping everything clean, organised and well presented.
- Is reliable, punctual and honest.
- Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team.
- Isn’t afraid to roll up their sleeves, whether that’s making coffees, washing dishes, cleaning tables or restocking shelves.
- Understands that in a small independent business, everyone helps with everything.
- Is calm under pressure and enjoys the buzz of a busy service.
- Is looking for a long-term role where they can grow with the business.
Experience
Previous hospitality or barista experience is an advantage, but it isn’t the most important thing.
We’re much more interested in your attitude than your CV. We can teach someone how to make excellent coffee—we can’t teach kindness, enthusiasm, initiative or a strong work ethic.
If you’re willing to learn, work hard and genuinely care about our customers, we’d love to hear from you.
The role
- Zero-hours contract.
- Hours will vary depending on the needs of the business.
- Weekday and weekend availability is essential.
- Extra hours will be available during holidays, events and busy periods.
- Full training will be provided for the right person.
Sound like you?
If you’ve read this and thought, “That sounds exactly like me,” we’d love to meet you.
To apply, please visit Archie’s in person and bring:
- Your CV.
- A covering letter telling us a little about yourself, why you’d like to work at Archie’s and what you think you’d bring to the team.
Please note: This is not an online application. We would like all applicants to apply in person, as meeting the people who want to join our team is important to us.
Due to the rural location of Archie’s, applicants will need their own transport or a reliable way of travelling to and from work.
We’re far more interested in finding the right person than filling the role quickly.
We don’t expect perfection—we’re looking for someone who cares, wants to learn, takes pride in doing a great job and genuinely wants to become part of the Archie’s family.
If you’re looking for somewhere you can grow, make a difference and be part of a supportive, hard-working team, we’d love to meet you.

- Casual dress
- Discounted or free food
- Free parking
- On-site parking
