Job Overview:
As a Motorcycle Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of motorcycles through various technical tasks, including engine servicing, rebuilds, brake servicing, fault diagnostics, valve servicing, and providing excellent customer service. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the overall satisfaction and safety of motorcycle enthusiasts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engine Servicing:
- Perform routine engine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Inspect and adjust engine components to ensure proper functionality.
- Identify and address any issues related to engine performance.
- Engine Rebuilds:
- Disassemble, inspect, and rebuild motorcycle engines when required.
- Utilize technical manuals and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and resolve engine problems.
- Ensure the proper reassembly of components and thorough testing of rebuilt engines.
- Brake Servicing:
- Inspect, repair, and replace braking system components.
- Conduct brake fluid changes and ensure the proper functioning of brake systems.
- Test and adjust brakes to meet safety standards.
- Fault Diagnostics:
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults.
- Analyse error codes and implement effective solutions.
- Collaborate with other team members to address complex technical issues.
- Valve Servicing:
- Perform valve adjustments and inspections according to manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure the proper functioning of the valve train components.
- Record and maintain accurate service records.
- Customer Service:
- Interact with customers to understand and document their concerns.
- Provide clear and detailed explanations of necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Offer recommendations for preventive maintenance to enhance the longevity of motorcycles.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct thorough quality checks on completed work to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.
- Follow established procedures and guidelines for all repair and maintenance tasks.
- Continuing Education:
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and advancements in motorcycle technology.
- Participate in training programs to enhance technical skills.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Motorcycle Technician or similar role.
- Technical certification in motorcycle mechanics.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
