As a Manufacturing Project Manager within our Core Manufacturing team in Lincoln, you will lead projects that introduce new products, manufacturing processes, equipment and tooling into our operations.
Your projects will range from individual components through to complex assemblies, requiring you to coordinate Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, suppliers and other internal and external partners. You will take ownership from initial requirements and planning through to implementation, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to the required quality and within budget.
This is a hands-on project management role where you will combine manufacturing knowledge with strong organisation, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills to turn engineering requirements into practical manufacturing solutions.
- Lead small to medium manufacturing projects, including new product introduction, manufacturing improvements, new processes and the procurement and implementation of associated capital equipment and tooling.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams across Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Finance, Assembly and Test, Product Management and external suppliers to deliver agreed project objectives.
- Develop and maintain robust project plans, records and reporting, taking ownership of milestones, risks, issues and on-time delivery while escalating appropriately when intervention is required.
- Manage project costs and annual budgets, typically up to €1 million, maintaining financial control and supporting the commercial management of projects throughout delivery.
- Act as the primary project contact for internal and external customers, leading meetings, managing stakeholder expectations and negotiating with customers and suppliers to agree requirements and resolve issues.
- Deliver new products and improvements through the relevant Product Development Process, coordinating suppliers and internal functions to ensure solutions achieve the required quality, cost and delivery expectations.
- HNC, degree or equivalent qualification, ideally within Engineering, Manufacturing or a related technical discipline, supported by relevant project or manufacturing experience.
- Proven experience managing projects and delivering change, ideally within a manufacturing or engineering environment, with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate activities without necessarily having direct authority.
- Experience managing project budgets, costs, schedules, risks and delivery commitments, with strong record keeping and project planning capability.
- Strong stakeholder and customer management skills, including experience leading meetings, negotiating requirements and developing effective relationships with internal teams, external suppliers and customers.
- Good commercial awareness combined with an understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chains and the interaction between Engineering and Manufacturing. Knowledge of industrial turbomachinery would be advantageous.
- A recognised project management qualification, or working towards one, would be advantageous. You will bring a proactive, organised and customer-focused approach with strong communication, problem-solving and team leadership skills.
