Team Leader
Ofsted Children's Residential Home | Full-Time | Permanent
Locations: Cheshunt (EN7) & Tottenham (N17)
Salary: £31,200 - £32,200 per annum
Shift Pattern: Average of 3 shifts per week and 1 sleep-in per week
Ready to Lead From the Front?
You already know what great residential childcare looks like. Now it's time to help lead it.
At Liberi Care, we're looking for an experienced Shift Leader / Senior Support Worker ready to take the next step into a leadership role, someone who can lead a shift with confidence, support their colleagues and, most importantly, keep young people at the heart of every decision.
Our Ofsted-registered children's homes provide therapeutic, trauma-informed care for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). We create safe, stable and nurturing environments where children can build confidence, develop resilience and work towards brighter futures.
We're a growing organisation that believes in developing our own people. Many of our future leaders start on the frontline, and we're committed to giving you the training, support and opportunities to progress.
If you're ready to lead with purpose, we'd love to hear from you.
Why Liberi Care?
We don't just expect our teams to support young people... we support our teams too.
You'll benefit from:
- £31,200 - £32,200 salary per annum
- Clear progression into Deputy Manager and Registered Manager roles
- Comprehensive induction and ongoing specialist training
- Continuous professional development
- Regular reflective supervision and coaching
- Support from an experienced management team
- A positive, inclusive and values-driven working culture
- The opportunity to build a long-term career within a growing organisation
- The chance to make a genuine difference to young people's lives every day
The Role
As a Team Leader, you'll be a key part of the leadership team within the home, acting as the senior practitioner on shift and helping your colleagues deliver consistently high standards of care.
You'll lead by example, supporting young people directly while also providing guidance, encouragement and direction to the team around you.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you'll help create a safe, structured and therapeutic environment where young people feel secure, respected and able to thrive.
What You'll Be Doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading shifts and acting as the senior practitioner on duty
- Delivering high-quality, child-centred care and support
- Building positive, trusting and therapeutic relationships with young people
- Supporting daily routines, education, appointments, family contact and activities
- Mentoring and guiding Residential Support Workers
- Promoting safeguarding, positive behaviour support and trauma-informed practice
- Completing and reviewing care records, incident reports and other documentation to a high standard
- Working collaboratively with families, social workers, education providers and other professionals
- Helping maintain a safe, stable and nurturing home environment
- Supporting the wider team to achieve positive outcomes for every young person
About You
We're looking for someone who has experience, confidence and the right leadership mindset.
You'll have:
- At least 2 years' experience working in children's residential care
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, or be working towards one
- Experience leading or supporting shifts within residential childcare
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, trauma-informed care and behaviour management
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- A calm, resilient and compassionate approach
- A genuine commitment to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people
- A full UK driving licence is preferred
We're looking for someone who can balance compassion with accountability — someone who can support their team, make sound decisions and remain focused when things become challenging.
Leadership That Makes a Difference
A Team Leader isn't simply the person in charge of a shift.
You'll be one of the people setting the tone of the home.
The way you communicate, respond to challenges and support your colleagues can directly influence how safe and supported a young person feels.
You'll help develop your team, champion good practice and create the consistency that allows young people to build trust, confidence and resilience.
You'll be leading people, but your ultimate focus will always be the young people in your care.

Join a growing organisation that values your experience, invests in your development and gives you the opportunity to make a difference at every level.
