Project Lead – Baby Basics Newport Community Reuse Hub
£14.25 per hour | 20 hours per week | Part-time | Fixed-term to 31 March 2027
Newport Support Network CIC, publicly known as Feed Newport, is recruiting a Project Lead to coordinate the delivery of the Baby Basics Newport Community Reuse Hub in Newport.
The Reuse Hub will help good-quality baby, children's and household items stay in use for longer by receiving, sorting, weighing, recording and redistributing suitable donated items.
This is a practical, hands-on community role combining project coordination, administration, volunteer support, partnership working and day-to-day delivery.
Main responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the Community Reuse Hub.
- Support and supervise the Project Assistant and project volunteers.
- Coordinate donation collections and the movement of reusable items.
- Oversee the receipt, weighing, sorting, recording, storage and redistribution of donated items.
- Maintain accurate stock, activity and project monitoring records.
- Support volunteer recruitment, induction and ongoing involvement.
- Coordinate public Reuse Hub sessions and funded community events.
- Work with local organisations, referral partners and community services.
- Ensure appropriate health and safety and operational procedures are followed.
- Maintain project evidence and records required for monitoring and funder reporting.
- Support project communications and community engagement.
- Work with the CIC's directors to ensure the project is delivered within its agreed objectives, timescale and budget.
About you
We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable taking responsibility for day-to-day project delivery.
You should:
- Have good organisational and communication skills.
- Be confident working independently and as part of a small team.
- Be comfortable supporting and coordinating volunteers.
- Be able to maintain accurate records and use basic digital systems.
- Be comfortable working directly with members of the community and partner organisations.
- Be willing to undertake practical duties including handling, organising and moving donated stock.
- Be able to manage competing priorities and work flexibly according to project requirements.
Experience in community projects, reuse, volunteering, charities, retail, logistics or the voluntary/community sector would be beneficial, but relevant transferable experience will also be considered.
Hours and location
The role is 20 hours per week.
Hours are worked flexibly across the project week according to operational requirements, including project administration, public sessions, collections, events, volunteer coordination and partnership work.

Some administrative duties may be completed remotely where appropriate.
Applicants should therefore be able to work flexibly rather than expecting a fixed 20-hour weekly shift pattern.
