Pharmacy Dispenser - NVQ2 - Location: Bromley
A great opportunity to join an Independent Pharmacy team in Bromley in a busy community pharmacy with a friendly team. You will be an important member of the team, giving great service and helping to create loyal customers that come back time and time again.
In the pharmacy you will be giving patients advice, dispensing prescriptions, organising the dispensary and providing personalised solutions that help people lead healthier lives. You will also be trained on supporting the pharmacist to provide a range of pharmacy services such as vaccinations, blood pressure checks and minor illness clinics.
You will need to have confidence, be a team player, self-motivated, with good customer skills and the ability to communicate well with patients. Strong IT skills and the ability to learn fast are essential. You must have a desire to grow and develop quickly.

The pharmacy is a modern & very clinical pharmacy with a highly trained team. The pharmacy has a number of services it delivers successfully and wants to grow these even further including, Travel, Flu & Covid Vaccinations, Minor illness clinics, a variety of services that support compliance, Ear check clinics, BP Checks, contraception Service, new medicine service and discharge medicine services.
The pharmacy is open Mon-Fri 9:00am to 6:00pm and Sat 9:00am to 5:30pm. You will be required to work a total of 30-40 hours a week with alternate Saturdays. We will agree the working patterns after a discussion with you to ensure they meet your needs too.
The job will include a 6 month probation period and a 12 month fixed contract with a possibility of a permanent role depending on process and pharmacy needs.
The eligibility criteria for the training course and to be considered for interview are: - four GCSEs at Grade A*-C/9-4 including Maths, English Language and Science. Please confirm you have these GCSE qualifications.
Duties
- Accurately dispense prescribed medications in accordance with prescriptions and pharmacy protocols
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and distribution
- Support medication administration procedures under supervision, ensuring correct dosages and patient safety
- Provide excellent patient care by answering queries and offering guidance on medication use
- Maintain precise records of dispensed medications and inventory levels
- Ensure all pharmacy activities comply with legal, safety, and health standards
- Organise stock, check expiry dates, and report shortages or discrepancies promptly
- Support administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, and managing patient records
Skills
- Prior experience as a pharmacy technician or in a similar role is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and pharmacy software systems
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to prevent dispensing errors
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals
- Ability to work accurately under pressure in a busy environment
- Commitment to patient care and maintaining confidentiality at all times
- Basic understanding of healthcare regulations and pharmacy legislation
Pay: £12.21-£16.14 per hour
