.To assist the Trained staff to implement and maintain high standards of nursing care;
.To accept training, supervision and delegated duties;
.To Comply with company policies, rules and procedures at all times
·To help with the day to day running and activities of the Care Home as may be required.
.To help promote a harmonious, cheerful and friendly atmosphere within the Home;
.To help residents maintain choice, full potential and be their advocate when they are unable to do this.
.Ensure that residents are assisted with mobility when required including those with mobility aids
.To assist residents in the morning to wash, dress and proceed to the dining room and likewise when retiring to bed
.Working within the guidelines of the standards of the Scottish Social Services Council’s Codes of Practice
.Serving meals, drinks and assist those residents who are unable to feed themselves and ensuring that each resident receives a meal or diet that he/she has requested and is suitable for his/her needs
·Help with the admission and discharge of residents, including listing of resident’s property/clothing
.Launder, inspect and mend residents clothing
To answer call bells, assess the situation; deal with the patient seeking help. In the case of an emergency, to summon the senior care staff on call/duty and/or the emergency doctor or ambulance
· Contribute to the accurate recording and processing of information, and in the developing of care plans through tasks such as assisting in weighing of residents, taking temperatures and blood sugar levels
· Maintain confidentiality regarding resident’s particulars
· To undertake any other duties as required, in order to keep the Care Home running smoothly, as delegated by the trained nursing staff or home manager
· Ensure that you comply with the company’s fire precautions and procedures for evacuation and complete regular checks of the building
· Be familiar with and comply with the company’s health and safety policies and procedures
· Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene at all times
