Sodexo is seeking a talented and motivated Engineering Supervisor to join our Technical Services team at the University of Greenwich's Avery Hill Campus. About the Role

As Engineering Supervisor, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of hard FM services, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

What you'll do

Lead, motivate and develop a team of multi-skilled engineers.

Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of M&E systems across student accommodation buildings.

Coordinate reactive and planned maintenance activities through our CAFM system (MAXIMO).

Ensure all statutory compliance, health and safety legislation and Safe Systems of Work are adhered to.

Act as a key technical expert, supporting fault diagnosis and resolution across electrical and mechanical systems.

Manage contractors and specialist suppliers, ensuring quality, safety and value for money.

Support recruitment, training, performance management and career development within the engineering team.

Conduct audits, inspections and compliance reviews to maintain operational excellence.

Work collaboratively with the Engineering Lead, Facilities Management team and University stakeholders.

Manage critical spare stock and materials to support service continuity.

Undertake the role of Low Voltage Authorised Person (LV AP) for the campus.
What you'll bring
We're interested in hearing from experienced building services professionals who combine strong technical knowledge with excellent people management skills.
Essential Experience & Qualifications

HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.

Minimum 5 years' experience within a building services or facilities management environment.

Previous experience supervising or managing engineering teams.

Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance within commercial or public sector environments.

Experience managing contractors and service providers.

Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Competent IT user with experience of CAFM systems.

Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and safe working practices.
Desirable
-
IOSH Managing Safely.

Previous Authorised Person (AP) appointment in LV, Mechanical Services, Pressure Systems, Confined Spaces or similar.

Knowledge of CDM Regulations.

Experience working in complex university, healthcare, heritage or large public-sector estates.

Institute of Leadership & Management membership.

Emergency First Aid qualification.
