The role
A K Cleaning Services is looking for an experienced and practical cleaning professional to become a key member of our operational team.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining specialist cleaning with team supervision and operational support. You will carry out work including window cleaning with reach and wash systems, jetwashing, floor buffing and deep cleaning, while also leading teams, visiting sites and helping us maintain high standards across the business.
We need someone dependable who can take ownership of the work on site, deal professionally with clients and cleaners, and make sure each job is completed properly.
This is not a desk-based management position. Most of your time will be spent travelling between sites, carrying out specialist work and supporting our cleaning teams.
Main responsibilities
- Carry out window cleaning, jetwashing, deep cleaning and other specialist cleaning work.
- Lead cleaning teams and take responsibility for the successful completion of work on site.
- Visit client sites to inspect standards and help resolve practical cleaning issues.
- Support and guide cleaners, including providing training where required.
- Assist the management team with operational requirements, including occasional cleaning cover.
- Look after the company vehicle, machinery and equipment provided for the role.
- Work safely and follow the company’s health and safety procedures.
Working pattern
Many of our clients operate within the restaurant and hospitality sector, so work usually takes place while their premises are closed. This will include a mixture of early mornings, evenings, overnight work and weekends.
Work is scheduled in advance wherever possible. Emergency cleaning cover may be required, but the position does not involve being permanently on call. Working hours will be managed flexibly, with appropriate rest following overnight or weekend work.
The role primarily covers London and the South, with travel for projects elsewhere in England & Wales.
What we are looking for
You should have:
- Strong commercial or specialist cleaning experience.
- Experience leading cleaners or small teams on site.
- Practical experience in deep cleaning, floor buffing window cleaning, jetwashing or related specialist services.
- Confidence using commercial cleaning machinery and equipment.
- A reliable, practical approach and the ability to take responsibility for work on site.
- Good communication skills and a professional manner with clients and colleagues.
- A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.
Experience with commercial kitchens, floor machinery, steam cleaning, high-level cleaning or refurbishment cleans would be useful. However, we do not expect applicants to have mastered every specialist service. Training can be provided where someone has the right experience, attitude and willingness to learn.
