Job description:
Caremark Glasgow West is looking for an enthusiastic, caring and experienced professional to join our team as a Part-Time/Full-Time Hybrid Field Care Supervisor.
This is a permanent position, working flexibly across the week with some weekend working required. Flexibility is essential as the role may occasionally involve earlier starts, later finishes or weekend visits.
About the role
This is a varied and rewarding role that combines hands on caring work, office-based work and time out in the community. As a Field Care Supervisor, you’ll play an important role in making sure our clients receive consistently high-quality, person-centred care, while also supporting and developing our Care & Support Workers.
You’ll have a genuine opportunity to make a difference — not only to the people we support, but also to the carers who provide that support every day.
Principal responsibilities
- To carry out Individual Needs Assessments for new and potential customers.
- To conduct risk assessments as part of the Individual Needs Assessment and update these as required as part of the individual’s risk management.
- To carry out introductory visits every time a Care Assistant visits a customer for the first time.
- To ensure all customer visits are always covered.
- To be on-call in case of emergency.
- To liaise closely with Care Coordinators regarding recruitment, permanent allocation of Care Assistants and the writing of Care & Support Agreements.
- To identify suitable Care Assistants to cover for any absences, this may be due to sickness or holiday.
- To allocate suitable alternative Care Assistants when an existing Care Assistant notifies that they are unable to attend a call.
- To facilitate the practical induction of all new Care Assistants.
- To provide and facilitate in-field training as and when appropriate.
- To identify any additional training needs of Care Assistants and report accordingly.
- To conduct customer reviews and respond to Individual Review Forms completed by Care Assistants as soon as possible.
- To urgently report any changes in a Care Assistant’s or customer’s schedule to the Care Coordinator.
- To monitor, supervise and mentor all Care Assistants in the field.
- To provide support to all Care Assistants in the field.
- To monitor all customers for service and Care Assistant satisfaction.
- To ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation held in customers’ homes.
- To encourage and identify opportunities for Care Assistants continuing professional development.
- To ensure that all written reports and administration is up to date.
- To maintain close liaison with both the Care Manager and Care Coordinator.
- To Provide person‑centred care to clients
- To Support complex clients with consistency and professionalism
- To Maintain accurate records and communication
- To Act as a role model for new and existing care staff
No two days are the same. One day you might be visiting a client and completing a care observation; the next you could be supporting a carer to deliver care, carrying out an assessment, reviewing care documentation or helping the office team resolve a care-related issue.
