Passenger Escort — Independent Specialist College
Rotherham | £13.20 per hour | 20–25 hours per week | Term time only
We are seeking a caring and reliable Passenger Escort to support young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities during their journeys between home and our specialist college.
Normal hours are split shifts, Monday to Friday:
- Approximately 7.00am–9.30am
- Approximately 2.45pm–4.45pm
Working alongside the Minibus Driver, you will help students board and leave the vehicle safely, ensure seatbelts are used correctly, monitor student wellbeing and provide calm, person-centred support throughout each journey.
You must be patient, observant, reliable and able to respond calmly if a student becomes anxious or distressed.
Experience of working with young people or people with SEND is desirable, but applicants with the right values and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Passenger Escort training and mandatory training will be provided. This will include safeguarding, first aid, health and safety, manual handling, disability awareness and other relevant training.
The successful candidate will be subject to safer-recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check with the appropriate barred-list information. They will be required to register with and remain subscribed to the DBS Update Service in accordance with college policy.
