Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and dynamic Retail Sales Assistant to join our team. This role involves engaging with customers, providing excellent service, and assisting in the smooth operation of our retail environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and have a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences. This position is for both retail and deli, which involves food preparation, making up food orders for both in store customers and deliveries, food hygiene certificate would be an advantage.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them in finding products that meet their needs
- Provide detailed product information and answer customer queries effectively
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure an attractive shopping environment
- Restock shelves and organise displays to optimise product presentation
- Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when necessary
- Keep the store clean, organised, and well-stocked throughout the shift
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure efficient store operations
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus
- Food hygiene certificate
- Previous experience in retail or food preparation is advantageous but not essential
- Friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport with diverse customers
- Organised with good attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Reliable with a positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills
