Overview
We are seeking a dedicated HGV Driver Labourer to join our team. This role involves operating flatbed lorries and assisting with delivery and logistical tasks across various sites. The ideal candidate will possess a valid commercial driving licence and have experience in delivery driving, with a focus on safety and efficiency. Duties
- Safely operate flatbed lorries to transport goods between locations in accordance with scheduling requirements
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo, ensuring items are secured correctly for transit
- Support the logistics team in organising deliveries and collections efficiently
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any faults or issues
- Assist with general labouring tasks on-site, including moving materials and maintaining a clean work environment
- Comply with all health and safety regulations during operations and while on site
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence with a focus on commercial driving (HGV licence preferred)
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving HGVs or flatbed lorries
- Knowledge of safe loading and securing of cargo on flatbeds
- Good organisational skills and ability to follow schedules precisely
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks associated with loading/unloading cargo
- A responsible attitude towards safety protocols and traffic regulations
