Waking Night Care Assistant

Are you looking for a person centred role and want to make a real difference to someone's life? We’re looking for three compassionate and dedicated PersonalAssistants to support our client with quadriplegia with day-to-day tasks.
This is a waking night position to provide support required with general care tasks and all aspects of personal and complex care including support with moving and handling, pressure care, continence care (including suprapubic catheter) and diabetes management.

Our small teams of Personal Assistants provide bespoke, person centered care to really make a difference in our clients lives. You’ll only be working with one client which enables you to truly get to know them and make a meaningful difference each day.
The hours: 22 or 33 hours week week with the following shift times 9pm-8am
Flexibility to cover shifts when needed within the team is essential
Rate of Pay: £12.98 per hour

All training is provided and will consist of e-learning courses, face-to-face sessions, practical training, clinical training and competencies. The training is bespoke to the client and fully comprehensive for meeting their needs. We also provide refresher training on a regular basis, to keep your knowledge and skills current.
Who we are looking for:
You must be self motivated, well organised, chatty, reliable and an excellent team player. As well as being a naturally caring and compassionate person, we’re seeking Care / Support workers with:
- Personal care, support to manage incontinence, and measures to maintain a good skin state.
- Catheter care
- Medication administration
- Moving and Handling (including hoisting and position changes).
- Domestic duties (Laundry, cleaning, cooking nutritious meals).
- Monitoring of general health and well being, and daily record keeping.
- Providing support around meal times due to the clients dysphagia
- Diabetes management and blood sugar monitoring
You should also have:
- ✅Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- ✅Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness
- ✅A DBS on the update service would be an advantage
