Tool Maker/Fitter

I am looking for an experienced Tool Maker/Fitter, with good knowledge of conventional engineering techniques, to work for an engineering/manufacturing company based in Wetherby. The business is commutable from York, Leeds or Harrogate and this is a great opportunity to join a busy and growing company.
Required Experience:
- Experienced tool room operative within the engineering sector
- Excellent manual milling skills
- TIG welding knowledge would be beneficial
- Grinding and polishing experience
- Capable of reading complex engineering drawings
- Knowledge of Bridgeport XYZ Axis milling machine would be advantageous
- Strong understanding of providing accuracy and quality
- Ability to work independently and well within a team
- Adhering to all quality and H&S standards
Other Desired Skills:
- Manual turning and boring experience would be beneficial
- Experience in machining a wide range of specialist materials including heavy flame cut structural steels, high tensile steel, aluminium, brass, bronze and acetal
- Experience of working to ISO9001:2015
- Ability to visually inspect work
- C/B FLT licence would be beneficial
The core working hours for this role are 37hrs per week, 7.30am-5.15pm from Monday to Thursday. Overtime is always available and is paid at time + 1/3 on weekdays and time + ½ on Saturdays. The starting salary for the role is experience dependent, between £33k and £40k. This role is advertised as permanent from day one.
