Accounts Senior – Whitehaven
£35,000 - £40,000 + Excellent Benefits + Career Progression
Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Senior to join a leading national firm of Chartered Accountants based in Whitehaven.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA / ACCA qualified or finalist accountant looking to develop their career within a well-established accountancy practice. The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of clients, providing accounts, tax and business advisory support across a range of sectors.

As an Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and management accounts.
- Preparing corporation tax computations and supporting with tax compliance work.
- Assisting clients with accounting queries and providing practical business advice.
- Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships.
- Supporting clients with VAT and general accounting matters.
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance where required.
- Supporting the development and training of more junior members of the team.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- ACA / ACCA qualified or be at the final stages of qualification.
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- Experience in a varied general practice accounts role.
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, accounting standards and tax compliance.
- Experience using accounting software packages.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
