Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a flatbed lorry equipped with a HIAB crane, delivering goods to various locations whilst ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers specialising in commercial driving and delivery services. The ideal applicant will possess a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and experience handling flatbed loads with a HIAB crane.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle fitted with a HIAB crane and flatbed equipment
- Deliver goods to clients efficiently and punctually, adhering to scheduled routes
- Load and unload cargo using the HIAB crane, ensuring secure handling of all items
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon completion of deliveries
- Follow all road safety laws and company policies during transportation and loading activities
- Assist with organising deliveries to optimise route efficiency and minimise delays
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times during operations
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles equipped with HIAB cranes
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence with relevant certification for operating a HIAB crane (e.g., CPCS or NPORS)
- Prior experience in driving and operating flatbed lorries in a commercial environment
- Familiarity with delivery routes within the local area and beyond is desirable
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and lifting operations
- Excellent organisational skills, punctuality, and professionalism in customer interactions
Pay: £50,000.00 per year
