Job Summary (Maternity Cover)
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher of English to join our educational team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging English lessons to students of various ages and abilities, including those with special educational needs. Duties
- Plan, prepare, and deliver effective English lessons tailored to diverse student needs, including individuals with disabilities.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate learners with special educational requirements.
- Support students in developing their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through innovative activities and tutoring sessions.
- Monitor student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student development.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes active participation and respect.
- Assist with toddler care programmes where applicable, fostering early language acquisition in young children.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and personalised learning plans.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in teaching English or working with children in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of special education principles and experience working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage learners effectively across different age groups.
- Experience in tutoring or providing additional support for students requiring extra help.
- Passion for working with children and a nurturing attitude towards early childhood development.
- Relevant qualifications in Education or Teaching (e.g., PGCE, QTS) are preferred but not essential if accompanied by substantial practical experience.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs and create an inclusive classroom environment.
