A position has become available - we have an excellent opportunity for a skilled Fabricator / Supervisor to join our team with duties to include some managerial tasks.
Overall Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to fabricate / weld / oversee shop floor / site operations and assist management with some office tasks (procurement and general assistance)
As a Fabrication Supervisor you will be responsible for providing knowledge, assistance and intervention to ensure the safe and efficient production / operation of all ongoing jobs predominantly on the shop floor with occasional site work. while ensuring adherence to all safe systems of work for all Fabrication activity and to work to company Health and Safety policy at all times.
Requirements:
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel as required.
- Good level of education, together with reasonable and proven experience in a fabrication / welding workshop /manufacturing environment with supervisor / management responsibilities plus basic IT skills.
- Must have strong organisational and time management skills.
- Very good understanding of weld processes, procedures and quality standards
- The ability to interpret drawings
- Ability to build collaborative working relationships with shop floor operatives, management and wider Burmar personnel.
- Enthusiastic and engaging team member who will positively contribute to the continued development of the team and wider business.
- Excellent communicator who can articulate themselves clearly with confident communication and leadership skills
- Can demonstrate a strong work ethic, is self-motivated and resilient.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment preferred.
Core Duties / Responsibilities:
- Support project planning and coordinate with management, staff and clients. Plan labour, organise and allocate work and oversee day-to-day workshop operations to meet production schedules and deadlines by converting orders in to job handovers with clear production priorities. Monitoring staff output and progress against programmes, allowed hours and required delivery & deadline dates
- Oversee and Coordinate cutting, drilling, fabrication, welding, painting, galvanising, yard operations, loading and transport.
- Identifying missing materials, drawings, approvals or information before they delay production reducing avoidable re-work, omissions, incomplete loads and delivery failure.
- Commitment to completing deadline driven tasks and meeting the needs of the customer.
- Enforce and maintain safe working practices with high levels of health and safety compliance in mind at all times
- Material and sundry procurement, management and stock control
