Job Summary:
We seek an office-based apprentice to perform a wide and varied range of administrative tasks, such as meeting and greeting clients, printing and scanning and inputting data. An important part of your role shall be to sit at the reception desk and answer the phone and so you will be the first point of contact for most callers and clients. We would expect your role within the business to grow and develop in accordance with your strengths as your knowledge and experience within Ann McCabe Solicitors develops.
You would support all members of the team, supervised by Emma Brown and Nyah Silvester.

Core tasks
Answering telephone – dealing with routine enquiries. Receiving information and passing onto to relevant colleague. Keeping clear note of conversation
Receptionist - greeting clients as they enter the building. Ensuring that they are attended to by other members of the team
Making phone calls - to gather or pass on information on instructions from colleagues, take payment or make or change appointments
Scanning post, identification and other documents received by the firm and saving to the client management system
Filing paper documents in filing cabinets
Inputting information onto client management system
Welcoming clients when visiting office, making drinks and dealing with routine enquiries.
Buy basic office supplies when required such tea, coffee, milk and stationery
Proof reading and correcting obvious grammatical and spelling errors on letters and documents prepared by colleagues
Print and collate enclosures for all outgoing post
Local errands such as daily visits to the Post Office
Take payments by credit/debit card, cash and cheque
As your experience within the business develops, responsibility for projects such as updating Office Manual and Procedures and managing database.

Training and assessment by Newcastle under Lyme College
The equivalent of five weeks holiday (25 days per annum) plus bank holidays, Christmas eve (if not a bank holiday) and an extra day on or around your birthday.
Pension scheme (Legal and General)
Free eye test once every 12 months and £50 contribution to prescription glasses if required.
