Location: Oriel House Residential Care Home, Antrim
Hours: 7:00pm – 7:00am
Contract Type: Part-Time / Bank Staff / Self-Employed Considered
Earnings: Approximately £260–£910 per month depending on nights worked
Looking to earn some extra income?
We are looking to recruit a number of reliable individuals to provide overnight sleeping cover within our small residential care home in Antrim.
This is a sleeping role from 7:00pm until 7:00am. You will be provided with sleeping accommodation on site and, in normal circumstances, you will simply sleep overnight.
There are no routine overnight duties, no care responsibilities and no expectation that you will remain awake throughout the night.
The role exists purely to provide an additional person on site in the unlikely event of an emergency situation arising.
A minimum commitment of two nights per week is preferred, with opportunities to cover additional nights where available.
Supper and breakfast are provided.
NO CARE DUTIES
This is not a care role and no previous care experience is required.
The role is simply to be present on site overnight and available should an emergency situation arise.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sleep on site between 7:00pm and 7:00am
- Be available in the unlikely event of an emergency
- Assist staff during an emergency evacuation if required
- Follow established emergency procedures and instructions
- Participate in induction, training and periodic emergency procedure reviews
- Maintain familiarity with the home's emergency arrangements and evacuation procedures
- Familiarise yourself with relevant resident evacuation information where appropriate
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Complete any required records relating to training, drills or emergency incidents
ADDITIONAL INCOME POTENTIAL
Depending on the number of nights worked, earnings are approximately:
- 2 nights per week = £260 per month (£3,120 per year)
- 3 nights per week = £390 per month (£4,680 per year)
- 4 nights per week = £520 per month (£6,240 per year)
- 5 nights per week = £650 per month (£7,800 per year)
- 6 nights per week = £780 per month (£9,360 per year)
- 7 nights per week = £910 per month (£10,920 per year)
Additional nights may be available.
WHO THIS ROLE MAY SUIT
This position is ideal for someone looking for additional income through a straightforward overnight sleeping role with very limited demands.
It may particularly suit:
- Active semi-retired or retired individuals who are capable of assisting in the unlikely event of an emergency.
- Someone looking for a few nights per week of additional income
- A student or mature student with a flexible schedule
- Someone who works part-time during the day
- Someone employed elsewhere who would like supplementary income
- A local resident who is happy to sleep on site overnight
- Individuals with previous experience in care, support work, security, facilities management or emergency response environments
As this is a sleeping role rather than a waking night position, applicants should be comfortable sleeping away from home and being available only in the unlikely event of an emergency.
