- To ensure that a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained in all areas for which you are identified as being responsible at the direction of the Site Manager Where required, to attend 'In-Service' programmes as directed by the Headteacher to work in accordance with duty rosters as prepared by the Site Manager.
Main Responsibilities
The Post Holder will provide a laundry service within the school and its residential areas and will be required to assist the cook in Kitchen duties. To be flexible in working practices to assist in other general duties as directed by the Site Manager
- To report any faults, loss, or damage to equipment.
- Provide verbal and written reports, as required and in keeping with school policies.
- To be aware of and work effectively within the school’s policies and procedures
- Always to operate safely within the workplace and encourage all others to do so.
- To behave professionally at all times and maintain confidentiality of information
- Ensure security and safety of the children and young people and site at all times
- Be aware of and respond appropriately and professionally to the needs of the children and young people’s – physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, social and cultural development
- Such other duties that the Headteacher or Site Manager may from time to time ask the post holder to perform.
Specific responsibilities
- Be responsible for the cleaning and pressing of all laundry items items, in the day and residential areas of the school as required on a daily, weekly, termly and annual rota
- Reporting and acting upon any faults or damage to the building or its services to the Site Manager.
- To assist with the removal of rubbish and waste materials to the authorised disposal point when required.
- To be responsible for good housekeeping in relation to the heating energy management.
