Yard Operative / Trailer Washer
Location: Bellshill
Hours: Monday - Friday, 11:00–20:00
Job Purpose
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative / Trailer Washer to join our team in Bellshill.
This is a hands-on role within a busy logistics operation, responsible for maintaining trailer cleanliness to BRC standards, organising the yard, supporting warehouse activities, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. The successful candidate will be proactive, flexible, and willing to assist across different areas of the operation when required.
Key ResponsibilitiesTrailer Washing & Hygiene
- Wash trailers to company and BRC hygiene standards.
- Complete trailer wash records and maintain accurate documentation.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is used and maintained correctly.
- Report any damage or defects identified during the washing process.
Yard Operations
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe yard environment.
- Assist with trailer parking and general yard organisation.
- Carry out routine housekeeping duties across the yard and external areas.
- Support vehicle movements and communicate with drivers as required.
Warehouse Support
- Assist warehouse teams during busy periods, including unloading and loading activities.
- Support stock movements and general warehouse duties when required.
- Help maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the warehouse.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Report hazards, accidents, near misses, or equipment issues promptly.
- Promote safe working practices across the yard and warehouse.
General Duties
- Support the wider operations team with additional tasks as required.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse, transport, and office staff.
- Maintain a positive and flexible approach to daily operational requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or industrial environment is desirable.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to undertake physical tasks.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible in supporting operational needs.
- Forklift experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
