Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting equipment to produce precise components and parts. This role requires a strong understanding of laser processes and attention to detail to ensure high-quality outputs. The Laser Operator will play a vital part in our production line, supporting the creation of sheet metal products with efficiency and accuracy. The candidate MUST have at least 2 year relevant experience in laser cutting.
Duties
- Set up and operate laser cutting machinery in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare materials such as sheet metal for processing, ensuring correct placement and alignment.
- Monitor machine operation during production runs, making adjustments as necessary to maintain precision.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on laser equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Use hand tools and tooling to assist with fabrication, grinding, welding, or assembly tasks as required.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and basic mathematical measurements to execute precise cuts.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting finished parts for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Forklift driving
- Checking quality, stacking parts onto the correct pallets and labelling jobs.
Experience
- Proven experience in laser or plasma cutting, sheet metal work, or similar manufacturing roles is preferred.
- Familiarity with grinding, welding, and assembly processes is advantageous.
- Mechanical knowledge related to machinery operation and maintenance is desirable.
- Competence in using hand tools, tooling, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Prior experience operating laser cutting or similar CNC equipment is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work efficiently within a team environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
