Heritage Vets Full-Time Receptionist (Part-time considered for the right candidate)
Heritage Vets is a busy, independent vet practice, and because more local pets are coming through our doors, our lovely front-of-house team is growing! We’re searching for a friendly, dependable, and switched-on receptionist to jump in and share the desk with our amazing team.
We strive for excellent client and patient care, and consider going the extra mile our norm. Our reception team is pivotal to providing exceptional service for our four-legged friends and their owners, and we consider this a vital role in our clinic.
If you love chatting with people, aren't fazed by a busy phone line, and melt every time a puppy or kitten walks in, you’ll fit right in.
Responsibilities
- Warm Welcomes: Giving our clients and their pets a warm greeting, checking them in, and keeping the waiting area calm and happy.
- Managing the Day: Answering calls, booking appointments, replying to emails, and keeping everything running on time.
- Financial & Accurate Admin: Processing payments, managing invoices, sorting repeat prescriptions, and updating patient notes without error.
- Being There for Owners: Offering a reassuring smile or a listening ear when a pet parent is feeling anxious.
- Working Together: Helping each other out on the desk and teaming up with our wonderful vets and nurses.
Who We’re Looking For
- A True Team Player: Someone who enjoys working side-by-side with colleagues, pitching in, and sharing a laugh during quieter moments.
- A People Person: Naturally chatty, empathetic, and patient with worried owners.
- A Great Eye for Detail: You spot the little things, enter details accurately, and double-check notes without fuss.
- Cool Under Pressure: A natural multi-tasker who can juggle ringing phones, a wagging tail at the counter, and booking questions with a smile.
- Resilient Work Ethic: Able to stay calm, focused, and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer Literate: Comfortable picking up practice management software, booking systems, and email.
- Experience: Prior reception or customer-facing experience is a must, and previous veterinary clinic experience is preferred—though reliability, the right attitude, and cultural fit are our top priorities.
