Joinery CNC operator
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and competent individual with experience in CNC operations and a good knowledge of materials within a joinery shop environment to join the team here at Blackdown.
Key Responsibilities
- Running programs on our Homag CNC machine - 5 Axis
- Communicating with production team to ensure the machined items are correct and efficiently produced.
- Ability to identify machining problems and report to their manager
- Knowledge of, or first-hand experience in wood machining.
- Read and work from basic technical drawings and cutting lists.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Working as part of a collaborative team to achieve shared goals
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Highly responsible and reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Skills & Experience Required
- CNC operations (lots of wood)
- Material knowledge
- Wood machining experience
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work to deadlines.
- Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings and measurements.

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: Starting from £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 17:00 Friday 07:30-12:45
