Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Activities Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the organisation and delivery of engaging activities for our residents, fostering a vibrant and inclusive community environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a caring attitude, and a passion for enhancing the wellbeing of others through meaningful engagement.
Duties
- Assist in planning, organising, and facilitating a variety of recreational activities tailored to residents’ interests and abilities.
- Support residents during activities, ensuring their safety and enjoyment at all times.
- Help set up activity spaces, including arranging equipment and materials needed for each session.
- Encourage participation among residents, promoting social interaction and community spirit.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and feedback to inform future activity planning.
- Collaborate with team members to develop new programmes that enhance residents’ quality of life.
- Ensure all activity areas are kept clean, tidy, and safe in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
- Provide support during special events or outings organised by the facility.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with older adults or in a community engagement role is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and enthusiasm.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to adapt activities based on residents’ needs and preferences.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to activity facilitation.
- A caring attitude with genuine interest in improving residents’ wellbeing through engaging activities.

Pay: £12.21-£15.89 per hour
