Tozers LLP is a leading firm of solicitors with offices in Exeter, Teignmouth and Newton Abbot offering an extensive legal service to businesses and individuals both locally and nationally. We are recognised in the Legal 500 and Chambers UK legal directories in a number of fields.
Tozers has a strong and effective commercial property team servicing clients locally and nationally and we are looking to recruit paralegal to join our team in Exeter. The successful applicant will play a role in supporting our lawyers to service our existing client base whilst they also spearhead further growth.
What you’ll be doing
You will be assisting the team in delivering a professional, proactive service to all of our clients.
Your standard responsibilities will include opening, closing and archiving client files, using the firm’s IT systems and packages, proof reading, dealing with emailed or telephone client enquires, document production and assisting lawyers generally with administrative responsibilities.
You will be providing legal support to fee earners with both administrative tasks and pre/post completion work on commercial property transactions.
What we’re looking for
The successful candidate will provide professional, proactive support to the team, enabling them to remain organised and to work efficiently and effectively.
You will need to be an effective communicator ensuring that all clients have the information they need. As well as being comfortable working collaboratively, you will also be able to work independently, at all times ensuring that the clients’ needs are paramount.
We are open to candidates from a variety of backgrounds, and you might have had some previous administration experience or be looking for your first role in law, but you will be willing to learn, be efficient, flexible, very well organised with a ‘can-do’ attitude, an eye for detail and an ability to work under pressure and to work closely with team members.
What you’ll have
Ideally you will have had previous legal administrative experience or be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in legal work but training by the team will be provided.
Previous experience in a commercial property role would be desirable but is not essential.
You will have good IT and organisation skills and be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
