It is an exciting time to join the neuro in-patient rehabilitation team at Holywell Neurological Inpatient Unit as we are developing our services and are seeking an enthusiastic Band 6 Physiotherapist to join us. We are an enthusiastic team who will support and help you develop your clinical, managerial, personal and professional skills.
Our rehabilitation services are fully integrated between the community and acute. We specialise in the rehabilitation of people with stroke and other neurological conditions. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual, who is passionate about helping patients to improve their quality of life and helping staff to develop in their roles and are keen to learn.
As this is a community-based role, there is a requirement to hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
To perform physiotherapy assessment of patients with neurological presentations on the Stroke and neuro rehabilitation pathways in order to develop and deliver an individualised treatment program.
To work as part of a multidisciplinary team to facilitate positive rehab outcomes and timely, co-ordinated discharge planning.
To fully support initiatives to reduce length of stay, including key working.
To work flexibly, being willing to provide support on other intermediate care wards when necessary.
To entertain the possibility of rotation into community based Early Stroke Discharge Team, neuro community team and Watford General Acute and hyper acute Stroke Unit.
To hold responsibility for own caseload, working with and without direct supervision.
Provide support for the clinical supervision for a Band 5 physiotherapist, student physiotherapists and give direction to members of support staff.
To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to inform own and general Physiotherapy practice within the unit.
