The Client Partnership Team:

This role reports into the Client Partnership Team – client facing on all matters. The team consists of two HR Advisors and a Senior Client Lead (of which this role reports to)

We have another side to our business which focuses on business development, all things systems and the key work behind the scenes! Together we work together to create The HR Branch Ltd.

The Office:

The main office is in Kirton Holme, Lincolnshire – PE20 1TW.

We work on site to the adjacent farm offering country lane walks at break time and two amazing dogs that can often be found in the office.

This role will have its own workstation in the main office that is shared with other members of the team.

We offer free parking, kitchen facilities and are well known for pay-day office treats along with celebrating success, typically involving food!

Main Purpose:

To provide a high-quality, proactive HR advisory service to clients whilst supporting the broader Client Services team in the delivery of exceptional client service, added value efficiency and streamlined process of key HR activities.

The role acts as a point of contact for complex HR queries, provides technical guidance to the wider HR team, supports payroll activities where required, and drives efficiencies across systems and processes to ensure an outstanding client experience.

The post holder will manage their own client portfolio whilst providing operational support to the team, contributing to service excellence, continuous improvement and commercial success.

Salary: TBC

Length of contract: Permanent, on site, 5 days per week, 8:30am to 5pm

Main duties

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management & HR Advisory

Manage a portfolio of retained HR clients, delivering proactive and commercially focused HR advice.
Act as the first escalation point for more complex employee relations and employment law queries from HR Administrative support.
Build trusted relationships with clients, becoming a valued extension of their management teams.
Attend client meetings independently and alongside the Senior Advisor where appropriate.
Support clients throughout the employee lifecycle, ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
Review contracts of employment, policies, procedures and employee documentation.
Lead on Policy development and life cycle against ERA requirements
Lead on disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence management and flexible working cases.
Support organisational change projects including restructures, redundancy consultations and TUPE.
Deliver management guidance, coaching and HR training where required.
Ensure all client work is delivered to agreed service standards and within agreed timescales.

Team Support

Provide day-to-day support and guidance to team, acting as a technical sounding board.
Troubleshoot complex HR queries before escalation to the Senior team.
Review HR documentation prepared by colleagues to ensure quality and consistency.
Support onboarding and development of new team members.
Assist in developing templates, guidance notes and knowledge resources for the wider HR team.

Support to the Senior Advisor / Client Lead

Provide operational support to the Senior Consultant in managing key client accounts.
Assist with workload planning and prioritisation across the HR team.
Support delivery of strategic HR projects for larger retained clients.
Deputise during periods of annual leave or absence where appropriate.
Prepare reports, client updates and management information for internal and external meetings.
Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and client satisfaction.
Support the achievement of departmental KPIs, utilisation targets and commercial objectives.

Payroll Support

Provide payroll administration support during periods of increased workload or planned absence.
Liaise with payroll colleagues to ensure accurate processing of employee changes.
Support clients with payroll-related HR queries including starters, leavers, contractual changes and statutory payments.
Ensure HR documentation supports accurate payroll processing.

Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working.
Support the implementation of new HR technologies and client systems.
Ensure accurate recording of client activity and chargeable time.
Maintain accurate records using the case management and HR systems.
Contribute ideas that improve efficiency, productivity and client experience.
Support business-wide projects that enhance operational effectiveness.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice through continuous professional development.

Business Development & Client Care

Develop and maintain excellent client relationships through regular communication.
Identify opportunities to introduce additional HR services that add value to clients.
Support client onboarding and implementation activities.
Contribute to marketing initiatives, networking events and thought leadership content.
Promote The HR Branch's values, reputation and professional standards at all times.

Person Specification

Experience

Minimum 4–5 years' generalist HR experience.
Experience supporting or mentoring junior HR colleagues.
Experience managing a varied portfolio of SME clients.
Experience dealing confidently with complex employee relations matters.
Experience in report writing
Experience improving processes and implementing efficiencies.

Knowledge

Strong employment law knowledge with the ability to apply legislation pragmatically.
Good commercial awareness and understanding of outsourced HR services.

Skills
