Legacy AV Limited is a growing professional Audio Visual installation company providing AV solutions to clients across the UK.
Originally established in the South West, we have expanded our engineering coverage nationwide and deliver projects ranging from commercial AV installations through to large-format displays, projection, professional audio systems and LED video walls.
We are continuing to grow and are now looking for an enthusiastic and practical Entry-Level AV Installation Engineer to join our team.
The Role
We are looking for a technically minded individual who is interested in developing a career in professional AV installation.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will support projects from installation through to testing and final commissioning. Full training will be provided, although any previous experience with AV, electrical work, IT, construction, events or technical installation would be beneficial.
Projects will vary in size and complexity and will involve travel to customer sites throughout the UK.
Your work will include:
- Assisting with the installation of commercial AV systems
- Supporting the installation of LED video walls, displays and projection systems
- Installing screens, brackets, mounting structures and associated equipment
- Running and terminating AV, power and data cabling
- Labelling and dressing cables neatly and professionally
- Assisting with the installation of processors, controllers and other AV equipment
- Using hand and power tools safely
- Reading basic installation drawings and system layouts
- Carrying out equipment testing under the guidance of senior engineers
- Supporting fault finding and basic system checks
- Helping with the preparation, loading and unloading of equipment
- Working closely with project managers, engineers and other trades on site
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment
- Supporting customer demonstrations and system handovers
- Developing your technical knowledge through practical experience and training
What We're Looking For
No previous professional AV installation experience is required, as training will be provided. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and an interest in working with technology and practical installations.
You should:

- Have a professional attitude when working at customer premises
- Be physically capable of lifting and moving equipment safely
- Be willing to travel throughout the UK
- Be willing to stay away from home when projects require it
- Hold a full UK driving licence, or be working towards obtaining one
Experience or knowledge of any of the following would be beneficial, although not essential:
- Audio Visual equipment
- LED displays or digital signage
- Commercial display installation
- HDMI, SDI, HDBaseT or network cabling
- Basic IT or networking
- Electrical or electronics work
- Construction, events or stage production
- Working at height or using access equipment
Desirable Qualifications
The following would be advantageous, although not essential:
- ECS / CSCS card
- IPAF
- PASMA
- Asbestos Awareness
- Working at Height training
- Electrical, electronics or IT qualifications
- Previous experience in a practical, technical or installation-based role

Working Hours
Standard working hours are approximately 40, Monday to Friday.
Due to the nature of AV installation work, some projects may require early starts, evening work, overnight stays or occasional weekend work. Any additional working arrangements will be agreed in advance and compensated in accordance with company policy.
Who Would This Role Suit?
This position would be ideal for someone starting their career in AV installation, electrical installation, IT, events, construction or another practical technical environment.
It may suit an Apprentice AV Engineer, Junior AV Engineer, Trainee Installation Engineer, Audio Visual Technician, Digital Signage Installer or Technical Installation Assistant who is keen to learn and develop within a growing company.
We are particularly interested in candidates who are reliable, hardworking and take pride in completing work to a high standard. Attention to detail, a willingness to learn and a professional approach are more important than previous AV experience.
