Job Summary
David Smith St Ives Limited is a family run business that has been established for over 60 years in St Ives,
Cambridgeshire. We manufacture bespoke timber engineered products including Doorsets, Roof Trusses, Stairs
and Engineered Joists, using the latest CNC machinery, supplying customers throughout the UK on
construction projects both small and large.
We are currently looking for a bright and
enthusiastic candidate to fill the position of Contract Co-Ordinator within the Doorset Department which will
involve working in a small team answering directly to the Design Manager.
The successful applicant will receive full training, support and will gain knowledge of our products through
working with our experienced Contract Co-Ordinators.
Good communication skills and high attention to detail are both essential, as the role will be to ensure accurate
interpretation of the customer requirements into formats suitable for manufacturing needs. Forge close
partnerships with selected customers and be able to react quickly and efficiently to their requirements.
Key Responsibilities
From receipt of order, liaise with customers to discuss details, offer advice and manage their requirements.
Produce Excel schedules and CAD drawings for both customer approval and for the manufacture of products.
Process factory cutting sheets using our specialist software and ensure instructions are clear and concise.
Maintain customer relationships beyond product delivery and through to after sales service.
Qualifications and Skills
No specific experience needed as full in house training will be given, although experience in a similar role would be an advantage with potential for greater remunerations.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel.
Good Communication skills.
High attention to detail.
Technically minded.
Full UK Driving License.
