What You'll Do
As a Strategic Projects Director, you will shape and deliver high-impact, cross-functional initiatives that advance the priorities of the Expertise Advantage Practice Area, comprising BCG Vantage and the Expert Career Track. Reporting to the Expert Consulting Track and Global Strategic Projects Senior Director, you will operate at the heart of the Expertise Advantage leadership agenda, helping ensure the function’s most important priorities translate into sustained execution.
This role sits at the intersection of delivery, operating model evolution, and AI-enabled transformation. You will own and drive initiatives that support the continued evolution of Expertise Advantage’s operating model and accelerate the AI transformation of Expertise and Knowledge, in line with BCG’s broader firmwide efforts.
This is a senior individual contributor role with a strong emphasis on end-to-end delivery. You will lead complex initiatives from framing through execution, combining sound judgment with hands-on ownership. In parallel, you will provide a targeted leadership-support and rapid problem-solving, helping ensure the Expertise Advantage leadership team are well prepared for firm-level discussions and decision forums.
Success in this role requires structured thinking, strong execution capability, and the ability to influence without authority—mobilizing cross-functional teams and partners across the organization to drive outcomes in a matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead strategic delivery: Own and deliver end-to-end, cross-functional initiatives aligned with the Strategic Projects roadmap for the Expertise Advantage Practice Area, with a particular focus on operating model evolution and AI-enabled transformation.

AI and operating model transformation: Support initiatives that enable the adoption of AI across Expertise and Knowledge, in partnership with the relevant teams, to support new ways of working, role evolution, and scalable impact in line with BCG’s overall AI strategy.

Hands-on execution: Personally drive analyses, syntheses, and executive-ready materials, balancing big-picture strategy with the practical work required to move initiatives forward.

Own complex workstreams: Independently manage multiple parallel initiatives with ambiguity, exercising strong judgment on prioritization, scope, and trade-offs.

Translate strategy into action: Convert high-level strategic objectives into clear, executable plans with defined milestones, owners, and success metrics.

Senior leadership support: Act as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders across Expertise Advantage, supporting decision making and ensuring leaders are well prepared for firm-level leadership discussions, updates, and governance forums.

Insight generation: Conduct targeted strategic, financial, and performance analyses (in partnership with Finance and other teams) to inform priorities, monitor progress, and support course correction as needed.

What You'll Bring

10–12 years of relevant experience in strategy, management consulting, or a comparable strategic role, with strong exposure to complex, cross-functional initiatives.

Demonstrated success operating as a senior individual contributor, balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

Experience contributing to operating model change and/or AI-enabled transformation is strongly preferred.

Strong business judgment, with the ability to connect strategic intent to operational reality.

Exceptional stakeholder management skills and comfort working closely with senior executives.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.

Ability to collaborate effectively across cultures, functions, and levels of seniority.
Who You'll Work With
You will report to the Strategic Projects Senior Director and sit within the Expertise Advantage Practice Area, encompassing BCG Vantage and the Expert Career Track. You will work closely with senior leaders across Expertise Advantage, the Global Practice Areas, and adjacent teams, as well as functional, regional, and finance partners.
