Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, trimming, pruning, and edging to ensure healthy and attractive plantings.
- Operate power tools such as hedge trimmers, blowers, and lawn mowers efficiently and safely.
- Use hand tools like shovels, rakes, pruners, and spades to carry out planting, soil preparation, and other landscaping activities.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure proper watering schedules.
- Operate heavy machinery such as excavators for larger landscaping projects or site preparation.
- Assist with construction-related tasks including installing new features like pathways, retaining walls, or garden beds.
- Conduct routine landscape maintenance checks and troubleshoot mechanical issues with equipment or tools as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance and gardening practices with a strong understanding of horticulture principles.
- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on power tools and equipment.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools and power tools essential for landscaping projects.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of irrigation systems for installation, repair, and maintenance purposes.
- Construction experience is a plus for assisting with landscape features or site development projects.
- Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work efficiently outdoors in various weather conditions.
