We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant / Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team at KOKA Restaurant in Fulham.
This is a combined role, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working as a Kitchen Porter but can also help with kitchen preparation and support the chefs during service when required.
Main responsibilities
- Washing plates, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen equipment
- Keeping the kitchen, washing area and storage areas clean and organised
- Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment throughout the shift
- Helping with basic food preparation such as washing, peeling, chopping and portioning ingredients
- Assisting chefs with preparation before and during service
- Putting away deliveries and organising stock correctly
- Taking out rubbish and keeping waste areas clean
- Following food hygiene, health and safety procedures
- Helping with kitchen cleaning at the end of service
- Moving between Kitchen Porter and Kitchen Assistant duties as required
What we are looking for
Previous experience in a restaurant kitchen is preferred.
You should be:
- Hardworking and reliable
- Fast and organised during busy service
- Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment
- Willing to help wherever needed
- Able to follow instructions from the Head Chef and other chefs
- Interested in learning and developing your kitchen skills
- Punctual and able to work well as part of a small team
This role is ideal for someone who understands that keeping the kitchen clean is an important part of the job, while also being ready to assist with food preparation and other kitchen duties when needed.
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
