Board-Level Electronics Repair Technician (Mobile, Laptop & Console)Overview
We are looking for an experienced Board-Level Electronics Repair Technician (Microsoldering Specialist) to join our growing technical team.
The successful candidate will specialise in diagnosing and repairing mobile phones, tablets, laptops, MacBooks, gaming consoles, and other consumer electronics down to component level.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician with strong microsoldering skills who enjoys solving complex electronic faults and delivering high-quality repairs.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair motherboard faults on smartphones, tablets, laptops, MacBooks, and gaming consoles.
- Perform advanced board-level repairs using microsoldering techniques.
- Replace and rework SMD and BGA components including:
- ICs
- MOSFETs
- Capacitors
- Resistors
- Filters
- Connectors
- Charging ICs
- Power Management ICs (PMIC)
- Diagnose power, charging, display, audio, Wi-Fi, Face ID, Touch ID, backlight and data communication faults.
- Repair liquid-damaged devices using professional cleaning and board restoration techniques.
- Repair damaged charging ports, USB-C ports, HDMI ports, FPC connectors and other board connectors.
- Read and interpret circuit schematics, boardview files and technical diagrams.
- Use professional diagnostic equipment including:
- Digital microscopes
- Hot air rework stations
- Soldering stations
- DC power supplies
- Oscilloscopes (preferred)
- Multimeters
- Perform full functional testing after repairs to ensure quality and reliability.
- Maintain accurate repair records and documentation.
- Follow ESD-safe working practices and maintain a clean, organised workstation.
- Support other technicians with advanced diagnostics when required.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years' experience in board-level electronics repair.
- Strong microsoldering skills.
- Experience repairing Apple and Android smartphones.
- Experience repairing iPads and tablets.
- Experience repairing Windows laptops and MacBooks.
- Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read electronic schematics and boardview files.
- Experience replacing fine-pitch SMD and BGA components.
- Confident using microscopes and professional soldering equipment.
- Good understanding of electronic circuits and power rails.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high repair standards.
