The Role
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Mechanic / Workshop Assistant to join our busy workshop team.
The successful candidate will play an important role in preparing our vans both before and after sale, ensuring they are presented and maintained to the highest possible mechanical standard. This is a hands-on position suited to someone who is mechanically minded, enjoys practical work, and takes pride in doing a job properly.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle inspections and identify any mechanical issues.
- Perform basic servicing, maintenance, and repairs on vans.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults.
- Fit and balance tyres.
- Carry out general workshop duties and vehicle preparation.
- Use power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist in preparing vehicles for sale to ensure they meet our high standards.
- Carry out post-sale work where required to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment.
- Work efficiently as part of a team while managing your own workload.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Confident driving vans.
- Mechanically minded with good practical skills.
- Experience using power tools and workshop equipment.
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic tools.
- Experience fitting tyres.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to carry out servicing and repairs.
- Good attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable
- Previous experience working in a vehicle workshop, garage, or dealership.
- Experience working with light commercial vehicles (vans).
- MOT or additional mechanical qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
