About The Olive & Vine
The Olive & Vine is a new café, restaurant and bar in Stubbington, focused on great food, quality drinks, friendly service and creating a welcoming local atmosphere.
We are looking for confident and reliable Shift Managers to support the General Manager and help lead the day-to-day operation of the venue.
The Role
As a Shift Manager, you will take responsibility for running shifts, supervising the team and ensuring the venue operates smoothly, safely and professionally.
You will support the General Manager with service standards, team performance, customer experience, cash handling, opening and closing procedures and the overall presentation of the venue.
This is a hands-on role, and you will be expected to lead from the front by supporting the bar, coffee service, food service and floor team when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading and supervising the team during shifts
- Acting as Duty Manager when required
- Supporting opening and closing procedures
- Ensuring excellent customer service throughout the venue
- Handling customer queries and complaints professionally
- Allocating tasks and ensuring staff understand their responsibilities
- Supporting the training and development of team members
- Monitoring cleanliness and presentation standards
- Ensuring food safety, health and safety and licensing procedures are followed
- Supporting bar, coffee and food service
- Managing cash handling, till procedures and end-of-shift checks
- Reporting operational issues to the General Manager
- Helping maintain efficient staffing and service levels
- Supporting bookings, table plans and busy service periods
What We Are Looking For
- Previous experience in a café, restaurant, pub, bar or hospitality venue
- Previous supervisory, team leader or duty management experience preferred
- Experience working behind a bar and serving alcoholic drinks
- Confidence leading a team during busy shifts
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Reliable, organised and able to stay calm under pressure
- A hands-on approach and willingness to support all areas of the venue
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- A Personal Licence is preferred, but not essential if you are willing to obtain one
- A valid right to work in the UK
