Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting with the movement and management of deliveries in our warehouse or as part of a 2 person team making deliveries nationwide. This role requires a proactive approach to handling heavy items, ensuring safety and efficiency in all tasks. Previous experience in warehouse operations is advantageous, along with familiarity with warehouse management systems and in delivery sector. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in logistics and and deliveries, load management and customer service.
Duties
- Load and unload furniture and other household items using appropriate equipment and manual handling techniques
- Assist with shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods
- Manage materials movement within the warehouse , maintaining organisation and cleanliness
- Support warehouse management system entries to track inventory movements accurately
- Assist with general site or warehouse duties, including organising storage areas and preparing goods for dispatch or use
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all activities, including heavy lifting and materials handling
Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse operations, shipping & receiving environments is preferred
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is advantageous
- Experience with heavy lifting, materials handling, and load & unload tasks is desirable
- Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding environment while maintaining attention to safety standards
This role offers a dynamic working environment, not only working in our warehouse but also support delivery drivers making sure all our customers receive the best customer service possible. A good telephone manner is essential as is good spoken English Language and written English
Pay: £12.71 per hour
