At Park School Nursery we offer a thriving, stimulating setting which has been carefully designed to create welcoming spaces for our children aged 6 months to 4 years. As part of the Forfar Education family of schools and nurseries we strive to develop the children in our care to be confident, creative and interested in everything the world has to offer.
We are currently looking to recruit a caring, enthusiastic and organised room leader (Maternity Cover) to work full time as part of our dedicated and friendly nursery team. It is our vision to create a nursery full of smiles. Key responsibilities will include:
- Regular communication with management, covering children and staff progress and any concerns.
- Day to day management and motivation of the staff within the room – modelling of quality interactions, appropriate language and professional standards.
- Coordination of planning: weekly/evaluation/child-initiated/medium term.
- Liaison and main senior point of contact with parents of children within your room.
- Ensuring the children are safe at all times of the day
- Building positive and respectful partnerships with parents

- Be supportive of the continuous development of the nursery
- Always adhering to all policies and procedures
- Engaging in high quality, in the moment extensions and observations
- Maintaining a high quality of care to all the children
- Upholding the team’s collaborative approach to the running of the nursery

We are offering an in person, full-time, maternity cover position of 39.5 hours, working Monday – Friday. This will consist of 3 full days and 2 half days.
Salary: Up to £28,447 a year, with an annual pay review in April (based on a level 3 at £13.85 per hour)
You must hold a Level 3 or above full and relevant Early Years qualification.
