Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated Warehouse Operative to join our small logistics team.
This dynamic role requires a blend of wholesale pallet building and direct-to-consumer parcel fulfilment. You will spend a significant part of your day operating material handling equipment to move large-scale stock, alongside managing data and shipping records on the computer.
While the inventory itself is lightweight and does not involve a lot of heavy lifting, the role is physically active and requires a good level of general fitness as you will be on your feet, moving around the warehouse, and building bulk orders. A valid forklift licence, computer/Excel literacy, and reliable transport are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Wholesale & Pallet Fulfilment: Build, wrap, and secure wholesale pallets of lightweight goods for business-to-business (B2B) distribution.
- Direct-to-Consumer Picking: Pick, pack, and label individual product parcels accurately for direct delivery to end customers.
- Warehouse Operation: Safely operate forklift trucks to move, stack, and retrieve pallets and orders from racking.
- Inbound/outbound Logistics: Unload and load delivery vehicles, check incoming stock against delivery notes, and safely transport goods to designated storage areas.
- Data & Administration: Use desktop computers to update inventory records, process sales orders, using basic Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and SAP accounting software (training provided).
- Housekeeping & Safety: Perform daily pre-shift forklift maintenance checks and maintain a clean, organised warehouse environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Key Attributes: Strong initiative and self-reliance, good spatial awareness, strong attention to detail.
- Licence: Accredited Forklift licence is mandatory (Counterbalance)
- Physical Fitness: A good level of general fitness and stamina to handle an active on-the-feet role.
- Computer Skills: Competent computer literacyfor use of SAP accounting software (training given), comfortable using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for data entry or stock tracking.
- Transport: Must have access to reliable transport to commute to the site.
- Experience: Previous experience in both pallet building, handling and fast-paced e-commerce/parcel packing is highly desirable.
