Night Security Officer (SIA Door Supervisor) — Kendal LA9 4QL
£12.71/hr | Part-time, permanent | 12-hr waking nights (8pm–8am), ~2 nights/wk incl. weekends & bank holidays | Start ~1 Oct 2026, subject to contract award
What you'll do:
Sole overnight officer at a supported homelessness accommodation service. Access control and key management, hourly internal and perimeter patrols, CCTV monitoring of a satellite site, incident and medical emergency response (incl. Naloxone — trained), fire alarm checks, written handovers, incident and access records, safeguarding reporting. On-call management support all night, every night.
You MUST have — no exceptions:
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor licence (Security Guard licence NOT accepted)
- Willingness to fund your own Enhanced DBS check (£49.50) before first shift — existing Enhanced DBS on the Update Service prioritised
- Right to work in the UK with documents
- Full employment history + references (vetting to HMG BPSS standard)
- Live within ~6 miles / 20 mins of Kendal LA9 4QL with your own reliable transport, reachable for emergency cover at any hour — state your postcode when applying
- In-date Emergency First Aid at Work certificate (state expiry date)
- Able to work 12-hr waking nights alone, weekends and bank holidays included
- Fluent written and spoken English for incident reports
Advantage if you already hold certificates in: safeguarding adults, mental health awareness, fire safety, substance misuse awareness, conflict management, trauma awareness — list them in your application.
