This is a 3-month contract role with a local authority focused on promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people. The position involves leading and coordinating child protection processes, chairing Child Protection Conferences, and ensuring robust multi-agency planning for children at risk of significant harm. This role is crucial in ensuring that the welfare and safety of children are prioritised and that all safeguarding processes are effectively managed.
Responsibilities

Chair Initial Child Protection Conferences, Review Child Protection Conferences, and other safeguarding meetings as required.

Ensure decisions relating to children at risk of significant harm are safe, evidence-based, and compliant with statutory guidance.

Oversee the development and review of Child Protection Plans to ensure they are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, and time-bound.

Monitor safeguarding arrangements and ensure effective multi-agency planning for children and families.

Ensure that the child's welfare, lived experience, and voice remain central to all safeguarding processes.
Requirements:

Working hours: 35 hours per week.

The role requires Enhanced DBS - Children's Barred List.

Work pattern: 80% office-based to conduct meetings as and when required.
