You’ll play an important role in the growth of Capture House.
Your focus will be on developing relationships with potential clients, generating new opportunities and helping turn conversations into long-term Capture House clients.
Because we sell creative and marketing services, you need to understand marketing.
You don’t need to be an expert in every marketing discipline, but you should be able to confidently discuss social media, content, websites, digital advertising, branding and wider marketing activity with prospective clients.
You'll work closely with the Capture House team to understand what a potential client needs and help develop the right solution for them.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Identifying businesses and organisations that would be a good fit for Capture House
- Researching potential clients and finding the right people to speak to
- Starting conversations with prospective clients through email, LinkedIn, phone, networking and introductions
- Building genuine relationships with business owners, marketing managers and decision-makers
- Meeting prospective clients to understand their business, marketing activity, challenges and objectives
- Identifying opportunities where Capture House can provide valuable marketing or creative support
- Helping develop briefs, recommendations and proposals
- Following up enquiries and opportunities consistently
- Keeping in touch with prospects who aren't ready to buy immediately
- Developing relationships with existing clients and identifying opportunities where we could provide additional support
- Attending networking events, meetings and relevant industry events
- Developing referral and partnership opportunities
- Working with the wider Capture House team on campaigns designed to generate new business
- Keeping our CRM and opportunity pipeline organised and up to date
- Tracking conversations, proposals and opportunities through to completion
- Contributing ideas for how Capture House can improve its own marketing and business development
This role is about personality, commercial awareness and communication as much as it is about traditional business development experience.
We’re looking for someone who is confident enough to start conversations but, more importantly, knows how to listen.
You’ll need:
- Previous experience within marketing, business development, account management or a similar client-facing role
- A good understanding of marketing and how businesses use it to grow
- Knowledge of areas such as social media, content marketing, websites, branding and digital advertising
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Confidence speaking with business owners, directors and marketing teams
- The ability to ask good questions and understand what a potential client actually needs
- Strong written communication skills
- Good organisation and follow-up habits
- A proactive approach to developing new opportunities
- Commercial awareness and an understanding that great client relationships still need to generate profitable work
- The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a creative and marketing team
Nice to Have
Experience in any of the following would be particularly useful:
- Working within a marketing, digital or creative agency
- Marketing management or marketing executive experience
- Account management
- Business development
- Lead generation
- CRM systems
- LinkedIn outreach
- Networking and events
- Creating marketing proposals
- Digital advertising
- Social media marketing
- Website projects
- Content production
You don't need to tick every box.
Someone coming from a hands-on marketing role who has strong commercial instincts and loves meeting people could be just as interesting to us as someone from a traditional business development background.
The Person We Think Will Thrive Here
You’re naturally curious about businesses.
When you meet a business owner or marketing manager, you want to understand what they're trying to achieve, what they're currently doing and what might be holding them back.
You're comfortable starting conversations with people you haven't met before, but you're not interested in hard-selling services they don't need.
You understand that good business development is about asking the right questions, spotting opportunities, building trust and following up consistently.
You’ll also need some resilience. Not every conversation becomes a client, and you’ll be comfortable hearing “not right now” and continuing to build the relationship.
Most importantly, you'll be excited by the idea of helping grow Capture House and seeing a direct connection between your work and the success of the business.
