We’re looking for an experienced, confident and personable Front of House Assistant to join our team at The Trough.
This is a key role within our front of house team and would suit someone who has previous hospitality experience, enjoys providing excellent customer service and is confident taking responsibility when required.
We’re looking for someone who can work closely with our Manager, help oversee the smooth running of a busy service and, when necessary, take charge of The Trough in the Manager’s absence.
The role will include:
- Delivering warm, professional and attentive customer service
- Making high-quality coffees and other drinks – previous barista experience is preferable
- Supporting the Manager with the day-to-day running of The Trough
- Confidently dealing with customer queries and complaints
- Taking responsibility for front of house during the Manager’s absence
- Liaising closely with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth service
- Ordering and monitoring stock
- Helping supervise and support other members of the front of house team
- Maintaining our high standards of presentation, cleanliness and customer care
- Opening and closing responsibilities when required
About you
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in hospitality and front of house service
- A confident and capable barista
- Calm and professional when dealing with difficult or demanding situations
- Friendly, approachable and genuinely enjoys looking after customers
- Reliable, organised and able to use their own initiative
- Comfortable taking responsibility and making decisions
- A strong team player who can communicate well with both front of house and kitchen teams
- Happy to step up and support the Manager with the wider running of the business
This isn't simply an order-taking role. We are looking for someone who wants to become an important and trusted member of our team and who is comfortable taking on responsibility.
Hours & Pay
Approximately 30+ hours per week, including weekend working.
Competitive hourly rate, depending on experience.
In addition to your basic hourly rate, you'll participate in our Tronc/tips scheme, which currently adds at least an additional £2 per hour to your earnings.
