Key duties for the Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester position include:
- Carrying out diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs across various vehicle makes and models
- Performing MOT inspections in accordance with legal and company standards (MOT licensed)
- Conducting routine servicing and repairs efficiently and safely
- Completing accurate repair, service, and MOT records
- Working collaboratively within a team to deliver excellent customer service
- Utilising technical skills to ensure economic, effective, and compliant vehicle servicing
- Supporting the company’s security policies, especially regarding sensitive customer information
- Analyzing work orders to accurately diagnose vehicle issues and determine necessary work
- Demonstrating commitment to continuous learning and professional development
Requirements for the Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester role:
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance, or time-served experience
- Valid MOT Testing Licence (desirable but not essential)
- Own or be willing to acquire basic tooling and equipment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage time effectively
- Strong knowledge of vehicle repair and maintenance procedures
- Excellent team player with good organisational skills
- Full UK driving license is essential
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving technology
