We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team in the School Kitchen.
Main responsibilities:
· Assist in the setting up and cleaning down of the dining area
· Carry out general cleaning duties in all relevant catering areas
· Assist in the preparation of food and beverages as directed
· To assist in the service of food and beverages
The successful candidate will:
· Hold a certificate in Food Hygiene, or be willing to undertake training
· Have the flexibility to work additional hours when requested

Job Description: Kitchen Assistant
Job Purpose
To assist in the preparation, serving and presentation of all food and beverages as directed by the Cook whilst ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Grade: Grade 1 (Term Time only)
Base: Wellfield School
Responsible to: Head Cook
Main Responsibilities
- Prepare the counter areas prior to service and clear down following service, which may involve moving and/or setting up furniture, setting up trolley and cleaning and dismantling of these after service.
- To prepare service areas, counters, hot cupboards and other equipment for the efficient and effective service of meals.
- To assist in the preparation of food and beverages as directed by the Cook in line with pupil requirements and legislation.
- To assist in the service of all food and beverages.
- To wash crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment, serving equipment, utensils and other catering equipment and surfaces to specified standards.
- Maintain high standards of personal and kitchen hygiene.
- To undertake training as identified through the appraisal process.
- To undertake any extra or alternative duties as reasonably requested.
- Ability to present oneself as a role model to pupils in speech, dress, behaviour and attitude.
